El Camino Cantina and Bar Patrón unveil colourful Cinco de Mayo celebrations
Tuesday, 16 April 2019: El Camino Cantina and Bar Patrón are honouring Cinco de Mayo, the annual Mexican celebration falling on Sunday, 5 May, with a line-up of tequila-infused festivities, including vibrant Tex-Mex fiestas, Bloody Mary margaritas, and a Mexican-spiced long lunch.
El Camino in The Rocks is hosting sizzling Cinco de Mayo party on Sunday, 5 May. The festivities kick off at 6pm, with DJ entertainment and the restaurant’s famous bottomless baskets of complimentary chips and salsa.
At 7pm, the diner who can eat the hottest chilli will be crowned Chilli Eating Champion and receive a $50 bar voucher. Party-goers can take a swing at a giant Cinco de Mayo piñata at 8pm, which will be filled drink tokens and El Camino t-shirts. Multi-coloured decorations and limited-edition sombreros will also adorn the interior, adding to the restaurant’s vibrant, energetic vibe.

El Camino Cantina in The Rocks and Manly are offering a special, Bloody Mary margarita throughout the month of May. The Bloody Mary rita ($16 – 15oz, $19 – 24oz) features Jose de Cuervo, triple sec, lemon, tomato juice, Worchester sauce, tabasco sauce and agave syrup, with a salt and pepper rim and celery garnish.
Bar Patrón will ease into the Cinco de Mayo festivities with a Mexican long lunch, from 12pm to 2pm, on Sunday, 5 May. A lunch package ($99pp) includes a refreshing classic or jalapeno margarita on arrival, followed by a traditional share-style lunch, with two hours of free flowing cava.

Fried market fish with sour cream and pico de gallo
Oyster mushrooms with smoked, Mexican cheese, watercress, garlic and salsa

Marinated market fish served with red rice, cabbage, lime and pineapple salsa
Braised kale enfrijoladas with bean salsa (v)
Mexican-spiced chocolate mousse
