The Rockpool Foundation
It’s natural for us to want to nurture; it’s why we all found our way into the hospitality industry in the first place; it’s why every restaurant in our portfolio contributes a percentage of sales into the Rockpool Foundation each month. Our staff are also invited to salary sacrifice for the foundation. These funds are spread across our local communities and causes.Neil Perry and Trish Richards created the Rockpool Foundation with the goal of giving back to the community. Over the years, The Rockpool Group has been heavily involved with a number of charities, charitable events and community projects: from OzHarvest and The Starlight Children’s Foundation, to Bear Cottage, the Steve Waugh Foundation, CanTeen, Camp Quality, The Prostate Cancer Foundation, Sydney Children’s Hospital and more … we pride ourselves on a strong philanthropic focus and enjoy our place within the charitable spirit of our community.
A Word on Sustainability
We believe the cornerstone of good cooking is to source the finest produce. This is food produced with integrity: free-ranging animals, grass-fed where possible, minimal antibiotics; fruit and vegetables grown without reliance on fungicides and pesticides; care for the ocean and all the creatures within.
Now with more than 50 venues, extending across numerous culinary genres, we can strive to apply these ideals not just our fine dining restaurants, but through to our casual family restaurants, bars, pubs, outdoor venues and our fast casual eateries.
Following the lead of the Burger Project, even our fast food offering is underpinned by slow food values; an idea we are working to extend beyond the produce with our waste practices, recycling and take away packaging sourced with the environment at the forefront of our mind. Our vertically integrated commissary kitchen and brewery is another part of this puzzle, allowing us to reduce packaging and food miles.
We believe the hospitality industry needs to be sustainable too. Our Philosophy of Care ensures we work to look after our staff, from fair pay, carefully managed hours and one of Australia’s preeminent training programs, we are building a future of hospitality professionals.
