Festive feasts and gastronomic gifts at Rockpool Bar & Grill pop-up

Tuesday, 20 November 2018: Pop along to Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne’s pop-up restaurant, bar and gift boutique this party season for a festive lunch, including a group sharing menu for eight or more guests, and a range of premium gastronomic gifts.

Located at the sophisticated Alfred Place event space, at 7 Alfred Place in Melbourne’s CBD, the
pop-up lunch destination will open every weekday from Thursday, 29 November at 12pm. The bar will remain open into the evening for after-work festive drinks.

The menu boasts Rockpool Bar & Grill highlights, including freshly shucked oysters with mignonette; tomato and buratta salad; fried Rock Flathead with crazy water and aioli; David Blackmore’s
full-blood Wagyu hamburger; steak frites with Café de Paris butter; and Australian wild greens spanakopita. All dishes are individually priced, with nothing over $35. The menu also features a range of side dishes ($6), including Rockpool’s hand-cut fat chips, and desserts of crème caramel and Catherine’s Passionfruit Pavlova ($12).

Groups of eight or more can opt for a menu of shared dishes ($85pp) that spans entrées, including Kingfish crudo, roasted scallops with garlic butter, and San Daniele prosciutto with pickles; mains, including whole lamb shoulder with chimichurri, slow-cooked Cape Grim scotch fillet, and roast chicken with bread salad; a selection of side dishes such as creamed corn, Wagyu fat potatoes and pumpkin and yams, and pavlova for dessert. Finish lunch with a little festive gift buying, including Neil Perry cookbooks: Rockpool Bar & Grill ($80), Spice Temple ($50), Food I Love ($50) and Meat by Anthony Puharich ($80).

Rockpool Dining Group gift cards can be purchased and loaded with any value and used at the Group’s fleet of restaurants (excluding Burger Project). As a Christmas bonus, until Tuesday, 25 December 2018, every $50 gift card purchased comes with a $10 bonus card, and every $100 gift card is accompanied with a $20 bonus card.

The gift boutique also includes a range of Champagne, wine and spirits, including those exclusive to Rockpool, such as Chandon’s Rockpool Cuvee, Gosset Cuvee Excellence Rockpool Edition, Rockpool by Grosset Riesling, Rockpool by Grosset Shiraz Cabernet Blend. Four Pillars Rockpool Gin ($75), Four Pillars Christmas Gin ($110) as well as Champagne and wine by Dom Perignon, Leeuwin Estate and Bass Phillip, are also available.

Those looking for something special, for someone special can choose from a daily selection of wine from Rockpool’s extensive cellar, including Penfolds Grange from a variety of vintages, Burgundy from Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Domaine Ponsot, and Comte George de Vogue, alongside Torbreck with back vintages available in a variety of bottle sizes.
