Flagship Restaurant Löwenbräu Keller Opens
Opened the iconic Löwenbräu Keller at The Rocks, Sydney – an authentic Bavarian restaurant that remains the flagship of UPG today.

Purchase of The Argyle Tavern
The Argyle Tavern was bought and developed.

Blue Water Grill
In October 1986, Neil opened the Blue Water Grill at Bondi Beach and took the site to an overnight success.

Rockpool Sydney Opens – Rockpool Group Founded
Neil Perry and Trish Richards opened Rockpool in February 1989, with the intention of establishing one of Australia’s finest restaurants. After six months, it was voted Sydney’s best new restaurant in the
Good Food Guide.

Urban Beverage Imports in Born
Urban Beverage Imports was founded and
will grow to become the largest importer
of German biers in Australia

Bavarian Bier Cafe Opens in Sydney
and The Argyle Rebrands
The Bavarian Bier Cafe opens in a premier location
in Sydney’s CBD York Street. The Argyle Tavern in redeveloped into The Argyle

Rockpool Bar & Grill Melbourne Opens
Rockpool Bar & Grill in Melbourne opened in October
2006 following the huge success and multiple
accolades accomplished by Rockpool in Sydney

Rockpool Bar & Grill Sydney and Spice Temple Open
Following the success of Rockpool Bar & Grill in
Melbourne, the Sydney venue is opened in addition
to a new modern Chinese restaurant Spice Temple,
located beneath Rockpool Bar & Grill Sydney.

The First Ever Sake Opens in The Rocks Sydney
The first Sake opens in The Rocks, later to become
a dining institution in Sydney.

Spice Temple Melbourne and Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth
October 2010 saw the opening of Spice Temple in
Melbourne, with Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth opening
in January 2011.

The Cut in Sydney Opens and
Expansion into Queensland
The Cut premium steak house opens in The Rocks
and UPG expands into QLD with Sake and The
Bavarian Bier Cafe opening in Brisbane.
