The Bavarian Toowoomba celebrates 1st birthday with weekend of festivities
Monday, 3 June 2019: The Bavarian Toowoomba is celebrating its 1st birthday from Friday, 14 June to Sunday, 16 June with a magnificent, Bavarian-themed party featuring live music, traditional games, free snacks and family-friendly fun.
The party kicks off at 11am on Friday, 14 June, when entries open for The Bavarian’s birthday raffle. The first 100 guests to purchase a selected drink will receive a raffle ticket and go in the draw to win a $200 restaurant voucher. Those with a ticket will also receive a complimentary slice of birthday cake. A band will also perform from 6pm.
A special birthday menu will be available all weekend and is the perfect winter warmer. The menu ($45pp) features a house-made pretzel, a choice of The Bavarian’s crispy pork knuckle or crackling pork belly, a schnapps shot and a 500ml stein of beer or cider.
The fun continues on Saturday, 15 June with a line-up of exciting birthday activities taking place, including live music from 5pm, a no-hands eating pretzel challenge at 5.30pm and The Bavarian’s renowned stein-holding competition from 7.30pm. The winners of each will receive a $50 restaurant voucher. At 8pm the raffle winner will be announced.
As another birthday treat, guests can choose any flavour of schnapps ($11-$13.50) and have it topped off with whipped cream and birthday sprinkles. A tempting line-up of schnapps flavours include cinnamon whisky, butter toffee, sour apple and pink grapefruit.
On Sunday, 16 June, Toowoomba locals can come down for a family fun-day, with free face painting from 11am to 3pm. Families can take advantage of a fantastic kids-eat-free menu, which allows one child under the age of 12 to eat free from the children’s menu with a paying adult. Children can choose from dishes such as crispy mac n cheese balls, cheese burger, chicken schnitzel, the Little Brat hotdog, or a grilled chicken wrap and cheese sandwich. A selection of house-made gelato comes in a trio of flavours: chocolate crumble, vanilla and strawberry.
Diners can also make the most of The Bavarian’s Royal Snack Hour all weekend, featuring complimentary premium snacks from 4pm to 6pm. Those who purchase a selected drink can choose from gourmet sausage rolls, Texan sloppy fries and Cajun popcorn chicken.
The Bavarian Toowoomba General Manager Luka Antonic said the local community’s response to The Bavarian had been fantastic to see over the last 12 months.
“It’s been a big year for The Bavarian Toowoomba. The restaurant is thriving and we’re thrilled that the local community has embraced everything we have to offer,” he said.
