The Bavarian debuts at Wetherill Park with 500 free hotdog bonanza
Wednesday, 21 November 2018: The Bavarian will open its doors at Wetherill Park shopping centre in Sydney’s west on Wednesday, 28 November 2018 with 500 free hotdogs distributed from 11am.
The Bavarian Wetherill Park boasts over 300 seats, including outdoor seating for 100 guests, in a casual, contemporary and cheerful setting.
Christmas shopping trips and holiday outings will be bolstered by traditional Bavarian refreshments, including crackling pork knuckle, plate-sized schnitzels, platters of classic meats and sausages, and big, Bavarian beers.
The diverse menu offers something for everyone, including lighter bites such as chicken wings, pork bao buns and spicy squid, as well as fish and chips, a range of loaded schnitzels with generous toppings and build-your-own salads from a checklist of fabulous, fresh ingredients.
Affordable, family-friendly, daily deals are trademark generous, including a schnitzel and beer weekday lunch ($15) and dinner specials including half roast chicken, chips and slaw every Monday ($10), two-for-one schnitzels on Tuesdays and refillable All You Can Meat platters ($35 per person) every Wednesday.
Every Sunday the focus is on families, with children under the age of 12 eating for free from the kids’ menu with a paying adult. A daily ‘555 Happy Hour’ from 4pm to 6pm relaxes house drink prices to $5 for beer, wine and spirits, with saucy chicken wings a bonus at $1 each.
The menu is complemented by over 17 beers on tap, including imported Bavarian favourites Lowenbrau, Franziskaner, Stiegl and Hofbrau. Traditional Bavarian biers are accompanied by an extensive menu of local craft beers, including an in-house range by Urban Craft Brewing Co.
The Bavarian Wetherill Park is Rockpool Dining Group’s 24th Bavarian restaurant in Australia and 12th in New South Wales, alongside The Bavarians at Bondi Beach, Chatswood, Castle Hill, Entertainment Quarter, Rouse Hill, Penrith, Manly, Miranda and World Square, The Bavarian Beerhaus in the CBD and Munich Brauhaus in The Rocks.
Rockpool Dining Group CEO Thomas Pash said The Bavarian Wetherill Park was a fantastic addition to the Bavarian family and catered to the local community’s desire for affordable, family-friendly dining experiences.
“Our Bavarian restaurants have a large and loyal following across the country and especially in NSW and we’re thrilled to bringing our first daily deal packed destination to the residents of Wetherill Park and surrounding areas,” Mr Pash said.
“We have created 45 full-time and casual positions and supported the local economy by engaging around 50 professionals and tradespeople on the project and we look forward to getting to know the local community.”
The Bavarian Wetherill Park is a contemporary, casual restaurant with design features that reflect its Bavarian heritage, including stone walls, alpine finishes and large, communal timber tables with bench seating.
Signature features include a custom-designed vintage beer barrel wall and an impressive beer stein chandelier holding over 500 1-litre glass steins suspended above a central, horse shoe-shaped bar.
A mix of light and dark timber walls are decorated with embedded planter boxes that add a splash of colour and a fresh feel. Hanging planters with cascading greenery are scattered throughout the restaurant and decorate drinking ledges that look out to a leafy, al fresco beer garden at the entrance. Bi-fold doors and windows flood the restaurant with natural light.
Inside, high beer barrel tables and stools at the front of the restaurant complement the large communal tables throughout. Several large-screen TVs throughout the venue offer an exciting schedule of live sports games.
