Burger Project gives limited-edition burger a Chinese New Year twist

Tuesday, 29 January 2019: Burger Project is bringing Chinese New Year to life with its latest limited-edition burger, the Peking Chicken, on offer from Monday, 4 February to Sunday, 31 March.

The Peking Chicken burger ($14.90) comprises of free-range crumbed chicken, salted chilli and a generous layer of house-made hoisin sauce.

This authentic combination of Chinese flavours is sandwiched between a soft milk bun, alongside fresh slices of cucumber.

Burger Project is also pairing the new limited-edition burger with a bottle of Tsingtao beer, a light and crisp brew with subtle, honeyed notes. This perfectly partnered combo comes with a serving of Sichuan pepper and salt chips ($23.50).

Rockpool Dining Group Culinary Directory Neil Perry is delighted to dedicate the Peking Chicken burger to Chinese New Year, which falls on Tuesday, 5 February and is celebrated for two weeks.

“Our limited-edition burgers showcase top-quality, Australian produce while representing different cultures through unique flavour combinations,” says Neil.

“The Peking Chicken is Burger Project’s take on a Peking Duck pancake. The crumbed chicken is delicately balanced with hints of refreshing cucumber and it’s an absolute winner paired with a Tsingtao beer.”
