Rhys Bailey, born and bred on the Central Coast, is the Sydney CBD Area Manager for Rockpool Dining Group’s casual brands.
The 30-year-old started his career as an Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Bavarian World Square, in Sydney’s CBD, in March 2017.
Raised in Bateau Bay, Rhys moved to Sydney in early 2011 to study economics at The University of New South Wales. With a passion for people and a keen interest in the hospitality industry, Rhys began working at Bondi’s Saigon Lane after finishing his degree in 2016.
In 2017, Rhys decided it was time for a change and jumped ship, joining Rockpool Dining Group’s The Bavarian in World Square in March.
“What excited me about joining Rockpool Ding Group was the company’s expanding portfolio of restaurants, especially The Bavarian brand. Since that move, I haven’t looked back,” said Rhys.
Thanks to the Group’s culture of promoting and supporting hard-working individuals with leadership potential, Rhys earned several promotions including the role of General Manager at The Bavarian Beerhaus York Street in Sydney’s CBD in June 2018.
In March 2019, Rockpool Dining Group offered Rhys the opportunity to open The Bavarian restaurants at Charlestown and Tuggerah, and with their success, was promoted to Sydney CBD Area Manager shortly after.
Rhys believes Rockpool Dining Group’s casual brands will continue to make fantastic additions to Sydney’s rapidly expanding dining scene.
