Enjoy authentic Italian with the ‘ravi-only’ one for you this Valentine’s day at Fratelli Fresh with a four-course menu available for lunch and dinner on Friday, 14 February ($59pp). The menu includes a glass of prosecco on arrival, freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters; a grazing board of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, olives, and house-made focaccia; pumpkin ravioli with burnt butter and sage; pappardelle with slow-cooked beef cheek ragu; Sicilian mussels with tomato, parsley, white wine and garlic, and grilled sourdough; as well as bresaola and burrata pizza with porcini mushroom, leek, and basil. For dessert, lovebirds will be served strawberries and cream with strawberry gelato and meringue and a signature banoffee torta. Diners at Fratelli Fresh Darling Harbour can satiate their sweet tooth with a selection from the dessert or gelato counter. Circular Quay’s Mexican stalwart Bar Patrón is also joining in on the Valentine festivities with a modern four-course menu including a signature silver Patrón margarita on arrival ($65pp). First course is comprised of oysters with lemon pickle, sea buckthorn, and habanero granita; alongside octopus vuelva a la Vida with tomato kimchi and orange sauce, samphire, finger limes, avocado, and coriander. Second course includes Wagyu taco with molcajete salsa, caramelised onions, and coriander; as well as al pastor and pineapple taco with salsa verde, onion and coriander. Enjoy the third course of prawns and squid a la diabla with chipotle adobo, garlic shoots, Kipfler potatoes, and burnt lemon. Dessert is an incredible plantanos con crema, which is comprised of frozen banana cream, banana veil, banana sugar, lemon myrtle and vanilla crème fraiche topped with edible flowers. The Cut Bar & Grill is celebrating the day of romance with a four-course menu ($100pp). Starting with two entrées, the menu includes: tuna crudo with shallots alongside shrimp and grits, followed by a prime rib super cut to share with a wedge salad and fried potatoes with onion sauce. Rockpool Bar & Grill’s Valentine’s Day set menu ($165pp) includes a smoked eggplant crostini canapé on arrival. For entrée, there is a choice of ceviche of Abrolhos Island scallops with avocado and lime, or heirloom tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella and oregano. The second entrée will have patrons choose between marinated roasted Spencer Gulf King Prawn or charcoal roasted squid and pork belly. Mains include Cape Grim beef fillet or charcoal-roasted market fish. The menu includes sides of radicchio, cos and endive salad with palm sugar vinaigrette as well as fat cut chips. Those with a sweet tooth can choose to sink their spoon into Catherine’s passionfruit pavlova or créme caramel. Bookings here.
Celebrate your love for bier or a ValenStein with your Valentine at The Bavarian and Munich Brauhaus. The authentic German restaurants will have guests Drunk in Love with three new cocktails ($12); The Love Potion, comprised of lime juice, apple vodka, cranberry juice, grenadine and raspberry puree, garnished with raspberries and mint leaves; Black Heart combines Chambord, chocolate liqueur, coffee liqueur and garnished with coffee beans and finally the Poison Apple made from Angus Brut sparling, elderflower, lime cordial, soda and garnished with slices of green apple and mint leaves. An exclusive ‘Loves Me Knot” doughnut pretzel is also being served. A ValenSteins party will be held at Munich Brauhaus on Saturday, 15 February to continue the loved-up festivities as the restaurant wears its heart on its sleeve with a plethora of Valentine’s decorations.
