Get stoked for Rockpool Dining Group’s true-blue Australia Day celebrations

Monday, 13 January 2020: Rockpool Dining Group restaurants are set for a ripper of an Australia Day long weekend with true-blue tucker and celebrations running from Saturday, 25 January to Monday, 27 January.

Munich Brauhaus, Beerhaüs and The Bavarian are kicking off the Australia Day long weekend with exclusive Aussie offerings. Guests can indulge in a limited-edition Australia Day loaded schnitzel, available in two sizes: 180 grams or 360 grams ($19-$32). The classic chicken schnitty is smothered, covered and loaded with toppings of bacon, fried egg and Australian cheddar cheese. An Aussie cheeseburger ($18) with chips and a giant Bunnings-inspired hot dog ($18) is also available. Schooners of Australian craft beer are going for $7.50 all weekend. Bookings can be made here.

At Munich Brauhaus, keg taps and quirky challenges are set to take place all weekend, alongside an Aussie-themed best dressed competition on each day. Inflatable beer steins will be floating around the restaurants for photos and a DIY zinc booth will be available for a true-blue Aussie tan line. Expect live bands playing everything from 80’s music, to tracks of today, from 11am with a DJ take over from 9pm. The Triple J Hottest 100 will be playing all day Saturday, 25 January. On Monday, 27 January the Munich Brauhaus team will be hosting a recovery session with live acoustic music for guests to settle back into the work week. Bookings can be made here.

Fratelli Fresh is throwing Italian tradition out the window with the addition of its ‘Fair Dinkum’ menu. Traditional Aussie delights have found their way onto the pizza menu with new toppings including BBQ meat lovers, bacon and egg, vegemite and cheese, sausage and caramelised onion, as well as ham and pineapple ($20). A steak sandwich ($20) with caramelised onion, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, barbeque sauce and aioli is also available. Pizzas and sangers aren’t the only Italian staple on the menu donning an Australian twist; new house-made gelato flavours include Calippo, Milo and Lamington. The sweet treats will be joined by two new house-made bevvies: Creaming Soda and Solo ($8), which come with the option to add ice cream scoops to make them into a quintessential fizzy spider ($10). Tim Tam espresso martinis ($10) have also earned a place on the drinks menu. Kids activities are available at the Crows Nest and Alexandria restaurants on Monday, 27 January from 2pm to 3pm with complimentary chocolate spider making and fairy bread decorating. Bookings can be made here.

In similar fashion, El Camino Cantina will be flying the red white and blue flag and opting for Aussie twists to its iconic Tex-Mex menu. Fantastaco Australian additions have been made to the already impressive taco list with limited-edition fillings including prawn and avocado ($10), and meat pie inspired version filled with mince, caramelised onion and tomato sauce ($6). A new burger burrito is also on offer with beetroot and pineapple, served with salt and vinegar hot chippies and a beer ($25). El Camino Cantina’s legendary margaritas have also seen an Aussie flavour overhaul with new additions including strawberry and mango, garnished with a Zooper Dooper ice-block, and a vanilla-flavoured, fairy bread margarita with a 100’s & 1000’s laced rim – both $15 (15oz) or $19 (24oz). The Triple J Hottest 100 will be playing all day Saturday, 25 January to usher in the long weekend. Bookings can be made here.

The Argyle is turbocharging its long weekend celebrations by transforming its two floors, six bars and outdoor courtyard into an Australian-themed extravaganza. Celebrate the day the Australian way with a sizzling summer BBQ, and $15 menu items in the courtyard from 11am. Choose from sirloin steak with potato salad and coleslaw; prawn skewers with cabbage slaw and lamb chops with potato salad and cabbage slaw. Guests can also sink their teeth into gourmet meat pies, pizzas, wings, salads and burgers. Tim Tam espresso martinis, Aperol spritzes, and frozen cocktails including piña colada, strawberry pink gin and tonic, and frozen Jack Daniel’s and coke will be flowing all night to keep guests cool. From 11am, live music, DJ entertainment and an epic game of two-up will keep guests entertained throughout the weekend. Additional details available here.

In true Australian spirit, The Argyle has banded together with JBL to raise money for those affected by the bushfires in a relief party on Monday, 27 January from 2pm. The party is hosting an all-star line-up of Australia’s premier artists and performers including: 15 Grams, Beastmode, DJ Trey, KTime, Nemo and more. Guests can expect fantastic live music, drinks and pop up food stalls, with all proceeds donated to the Royal Fire Service, Macquarie Koala Hospital and the Red Cross to aid those in need.
