Rockpool Dining Group restaurants bring Melbourne Cup magic to Sydney

Thursday, 19 September 2019: Rockpool Dining Group restaurants are dialling up the decadence and turning on the charm for the most anticipated social event of the season on Tuesday, 5 November: Melbourne Cup.

Saké Restaurant & Bar at The Rocks, Double Bay and Manly are offering an exclusive Melbourne Cup package ($129pp), in addition to à la carte options. The package features six, contemporary Japanese courses alongside a glass of Veuve Clicquot. Diners can also purchase an optional two-hour beverage package including Veuve Clicquot, Cloudy Bay wine and Sapporo beer ($89pp).

Bar Patrón is hosting a stylish Melbourne Cup party from 12pm to 3pm on race day. Guests will be offered a fantastic race day package ($150pp), which includes delicious Mexican bites such as tostadas, tacos, quesadillas and churros, as well as margaritas, wine, beer and prosecco. There will be four large-screen TVs for party-goers to view the race day action, and DJ entertainment from 3pm into the evening.

Rosetta Trattoria is serving a three-course Melbourne Cup menu ($110pp), featuring a selection of signature, Italian dishes and a glass of Moët on arrival. Guests can toast to race-day fun with an additional
two-hour ($69pp) or three-hour ($79pp) drinks package. Diners can kick on throughout the evening, with a DJ spinning tunes on the restaurant’s Little Rose terrace from 3pm.

Rockpool Bar & Grill is offering a celebratory menu ($150pp), in addition to à la carte options which feature Australia’s finest seasonal ingredients and sustainably sourced meat and seafood. The three-course Melbourne Cup menu features an expansive selection of Rockpool Bar & Grill favourites and a glass of Ruinart Champagne.

Diners at Spice Temple can take advantage of an extensive, Melbourne Cup banquet menu ($79pp) featuring a selection of dim sum, and signature dishes such as spice-fried chicken wings with heaven facing chillies, and salt and pepper silken tofu with crispy coriander. Guests will be served a glass of Gosset champagne on arrival.

The Cut Bar & Grill’s three-course, Melbourne Cup set menu ($110pp) features a selection of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including ricotta gnocchi with grilled oyster mushroom and pecorino, and charcoal-grilled Cape Grim beef fillet with split bone marrow and caper salsa. Guests will be served a glass of Ruinart Champagne on arrival, and can add an additional two-hour ($69pp) or three-hour ($79pp) drinks package.

Fratelli Fresh Darling Harbour is pulling out all stops for race day, with an elegant Melbourne Cup lawn party, featuring live music, DJ entertainment, and nine large-screen TVs. Guests will enjoy unlimited roaming canapés, cocktails, seven open bars and snack stands, between 12pm and 3pm. Diners can purchase early bird tickets ($100pp) before Monday, 30 September, and standard tickets ($125pp) thereafter.

All other Fratelli Fresh restaurants are celebrating Melbourne Cup with a shared menu featuring a selection of classic pizzas, pastas, salads and the restaurants’ signature antipasti boards ($99pp). The menu will be served alongside selected cocktails, wine, beer and prosecco, and is available in addition to à la carte options.

The Argyle in The Rocks is transforming its iconic cobblestone courtyard into a spectacular spring garden this Melbourne Cup day. Guests can take part in the annual fashions on the field parade, before watching the race from one of the largest outdoor television screens in the CBD. Tickets ($99pp) include of roaming canapés, and beer, wine, cider and prosecco from 1pm to 3pm. Live music and entertainers will keep the party swinging.

El Camino Cantina in the Rocks and Miranda is hosting a Melbourne Cup party featuring free chips and salsa, piñatas, photo booths, and 11 large screen TVs to cheer on the race. Guests will enjoy roaming Tex-Mex canapés and margaritas, wine, beer and prosecco ($79pp), between 1pm and 3pm. A Tex-Mex Fiesta package ($79pp) is also available at El Camino Cantina in Manly and includes a three-course shared menu, alongside margaritas, house wine and beer and soft drinks.

Big screens, beer and Bavarian food await at Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian restaurants across Sydney. Guests can enjoy Bavarian classics, or a two-course set menu ($45pp) which features an entrée of Caesar salad, and a choice of schnitzel, crackling pork belly or buffalo mozzarella ravioli for main course.
