Saké Jr opens at Sydney’s Grosvenor Place
500 free healthy bowls on launch day
Monday, 31 October 2016:
Urban Purveyor Group, Australia’s fastest growing restaurant and dining group, is opening its third Saké Jr CBD location within three months, bringing the sassy, fast-casual spin-off of Saké Restaurant & Bar to Grosvenor Place’s Piazza on Thursday, 4 November.
Saké Jr has quickly built a cult-like following, selling more than 1000 customisable, healthy and flavourful bowls every day at its first two CBD locations: Westfield Sydney and 555 Bourke Street in Melbourne.
Opening at Grosvenor Place’s Piazza, located at the northern end of Sydney’s CBD and accessible from one of the city’s busiest streets, George Street, gives the fun, fast and affordable diner another foothold in a worker, resident and tourist-dense CBD location.
To celebrate its arrival, Saké Jr Grosvenor Place will give away 500 of its signature, $15, build-your-own bowls to the first customers in line when it opens at 11am on Thursday, 4 November.
The first 2500 customers will receive a colourful Saké Jr reusable bag. Customers must like or follow Saké Jr on Facebook or Instagram to receive a complimentary bowl on launch day.
Customers build their bowl by selecting a base of either sushi rice, brown rice, noodles, salad or bao buns and topping it with their choice of veggies, proteins, sauces and condiments, all of which are inspired by the flavours, recipes and ingredients of Saké Restaurant & Bar and are delivered with a Korean twist.
The custom-built philosophy and numerous healthy, vegan and gluten-free ingredients enables customers to mix and match ingredients and carefully manage special dietary requirements with guidance from Saké Jr’s knowledgeable staff.
Customers who share a photo of their custom-built bowl across social channels on launch day will receive a free dessert on their next visit.
The menu also spans quick ‘grab & go’ items, including Saké signature favourites like miso and kimchi soups, sushi rolls, salads, dumplings and gyoza; unique desserts, such as chocolate-dipped strawberry shuriken ice cream sandwich and vegan coconut ginger and lime ice cream; as well as cold press juices, healthy smoothies , Bonacci coffee, T2 Teas, and organic kombucha.
Customers will be able to purchase draught Hattori Hitgirl or Blushing Geisha craft beer by Urban Craft Brewing Co, an arm of Urban Purveyor Group, as well as house wines on tap, and saké by the glass.
Saké Jr Grosvenor Place will open for breakfast from 7.30am daily from Friday, 5 November, bringing city slickers a unique way to power up for the day on $9, build-your-own brekkie bowls featuring scrambled egg, scrambled egg whites, Japanese hash browns, edamame fried rice, crispy pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, avocado and other ingredients. Other breakfast items include Japanese acai bowl and berry and yuzu muesli.
Daily specials include a $7.50 breakfast bacon and egg bao bun and coffee combination, and a $10 build-your-own bowl and 300ml craft beer pairing between 4pm and 7pm. Fresh-blended smoothies are half price ($4.50) all day, every Monday. Customers who order for pick-up via the Saké Jr App will receive their 10th bowl free. Delivery and catering packages are available via Deliveroo.
Saké Jr Grosvenor Place accommodates 50 diners with indoor and outdoor seating, features great music and lighting, and has plenty of USB ports and power points for those who want to stay connected.
Urban Purveyor Group plans to roll out around 100 Saké Jr diners nationally in the next five years.
